Sarah Halls is a journalist and TV producer with more than 16 years’ experience across television and print journalism, international political communications and business reporting. Her work focuses on business, leadership, geopolitics and global change, with extensive experience producing interviews, field reporting and long-form storytelling for international audiences.
Sarah’s journalism has appeared in The Financial Times, where she interviewed senior global leaders including Indra Nooyi, Anne Lauvergeon and Irene Rosenfeld for the FT’s inaugural Top 50 Women in Business. She has worked on leading international business programmes including CNN’s Quest Means Business, and later gained her NCTJ qualification in digital journalism.
After moving to Brussels in 2011, Sarah worked in web communications at the European Parliament and expanded her expertise in international political communications at the German Marshall Fund of the United States. She then spent six years at Bloomberg TV, covering European business news and company earnings for Daybreak Europe.
In 2021, Sarah transferred to Bloomberg TV’s Dubai bureau, where she was the TV interviews producer for Daybreak Middle East, later rebranded as Horizons Middle East and Africa. During this time, she produced interviews with senior figures including the former Saudi National Bank Chairman Ammar Al Khudairy, World Bank Group President Ajay Banga, Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol, and UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei.
Sarah currently freelances for CNN as a TV producer, in the features team, working on its flagship business programme Marketplace Middle East, alongside her wider work in journalism, documentary making and branded storytelling. She also moderates live conversations and events.
She is also the host of Pivot 2 Progress, a podcast launching in January 2026 that explores the real stories behind career pivots, leadership decisions and professional reinvention. Through in-depth conversations with founders, executives and change-makers, the podcast examines how people navigate moments of transition and build purpose-driven careers in the UAE.
Earlier in her career, Sarah worked extensively as a photographer and videographer. While she no longer offers photography as a standalone service, this visual background continues to inform her approach to reporting and documentary filmmaking. Selected images and footage are preserved as part of a visual archive.
